Budget airlines

Thailand has a wide network of domestic airports and several budget airlines. There's a lot of competition and travelers can get deals that are sometimes even cheaper than the bus or train, especially when booking early.

A common price for a budget domestic flight in Thailand is around 1000 baht.

AirAsia

Thai AirAsia is a part of the Malaysian Air Asia Group, an award winning airline. It's one of the older budget airlines operating in Thailand. Unlike the other airlines mentioned here, AirAsia doesn't include any checked baggage in their lowest rates - you have to pay some extra.

Tip: You can use Skyscanner to compare the prices of all available airlines for your route and date and proceed to the most suitable airline's own website to make your booking.

Tip: AirAsia, Nok Air and Thai Smile have convenient transfer services (using a minibus and/or boat) to many destinations that don't have an airport.
